Language Centre Booth Welcomes New and Returning Students for AY2026-27

Event dates: 1–11 September 2026

The AY2026–27 Language Centre Booth was successfully held from September 1 to 11, 2026, as part of New Student Orientation and Welcome Back activities. The booth offered students information about the Centre’s latest language courses, programmes, services and sponsorship scheme.

Around 530 students met with our teachers from all four sections—Chinese, English, Putonghua and Foreign Languages—to discuss their goals and gather information about suitable courses and language-learning options. Visitors were also invited to take part in “Lingua Quest,” a survey for goal setting and needs analysis, for a chance to play the claw machine and win a prize. Survey respondents reflected that learning languages is important and practical for their academic success, professional development and communication in a global context.

The conclusion of the LC booth marks the beginning of another academic year of setting goals and making an effort to meet them. As always, the Language Centre is ready to provide our students with all the language support they need throughout the year.
