Language Centre Partners with Division of Transdisciplinary Undergraduate Programmes (DTUP) to Support Transdisciplinary Learning

The Language Centre’s collaboration with Transdisciplinary Undergraduate Programmes (DTUP) on ITS 2005: Transdisciplinary Inquiries and Methodologies marks its first partnership of this kind. Building on the Centre’s English-in-the-Discipline model, LC colleagues work alongside course staff to support students throughout their project journey, extending support beyond language learning.

The collaboration includes:

  • a workshop on problem framing and proposal planning;
  • a specialised AI chatbot to support document analysis;
  • individual Proposal Booster Visits, where student teams receive feedback on their transdisciplinary projects; and
  • elevator-pitch rehearsals and final poster presentations, where LC colleagues serve as authentic audiences.

The LC team’s support has helped establish a strong foundation for this partnership and foster transdisciplinary education. We look forward to continuing this innovative DTUP–LC collaboration in future semesters.
